About The Position

XPO is hiring a Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight in a dock environment. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including a pallet jack and forklift, along with tools and supplies to secure freight inside trailers. Operators scan and track shipments using mobile handheld devices and follow company safety policies while working efficiently. The dock is not climate-controlled, and the job involves extended periods of standing and walking, as well as physically handling freight. The position is on the night shift. The expected pay range is $24.37 to $29.93 per hour, with annual step progression; actual compensation may vary based on experience and skill set. This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
Reach, including above the head; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
