About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Forklift Operator in Romeoville. The position works a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. schedule on a 223 rotation and involves operating forklifts and related material-handling equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment. Starting pay is $21.32 per hour, plus a $1.50-per-hour shift differential. The posting also mentions a $750 sign-on bonus, a $250 referral bonus, and eligibility for a pay-for-skill program. The operator handles material movement and inventory tasks, including cycle-counting and physical-inventory support, recycling, repacking and labeling boxes, stretch-wrapping and hand-stacking product, housekeeping, inventory consolidation, and material reclaim and scrap. The role requires successful completion of forklift certification and Lockout/Tag Out certification upon assignment.

Requirements

Proven experience in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
Experience operating a sit-down forklift truck.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Basic knowledge of mathematics.
Basic oral and written communication skills in English.
Self-directed, with the ability to work with little supervision.
Successfully complete the forklift certification program and complete the certification manual within 90 days of placement.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of recent forklift experience preferred.
Forklift certification preferred.
Prior use of RF barcode readers and vehicle-mounted computer systems preferred.
Push-pull attachment operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Use forklifts, clamp lifts, barcode readers, and safety equipment.
Receive and understand material movement orders.
Provide cycle-counting support.
Support physical inventory for non-poly materials and finished goods.
Provide recycling support.
Repack boxes; stencil or relabel boxes; stretch-wrap product; and hand-stack product.
Perform housekeeping duties, inventory consolidation, material reclaim, and scrap handling.
Complete forklift certification and Lockout/Tag Out certification upon assignment.
