Forklift Operator - Pallet Manufacturing
About The Position
As a Forklift Operator at 48forty Solutions, you will load and unload trailers carrying wooden pallets and move pallets and wood inside the plant to keep manufacturing production moving safely and efficiently. The position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and pays $19.50 per hour. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. The work takes place in a labor-intensive plant environment that may involve exposure to outdoor elements, heat, cold, and airborne particulates. Employees repetitively lift up to 50–75 pounds and may bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift throughout shifts of varying lengths. Noise levels depend on the work location. Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations. Requirements
- 1–3 years of forklift experience.
- Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Unload deliveries of pallets and/or wood and move them to the proper location inside the plant.
- Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area.
- Stack finished products into trailers or storage areas up to a safe height.
- Maintain a safe working environment while lifting, stacking, and transporting materials, taking other plant personnel into consideration.
