Forklift Operator - Pallet Manufacturing
About The Position
48forty Solutions is seeking a Forklift Operator to load and unload trailers containing wooden pallets and move pallets and wood within its plants to support efficient manufacturing production. The role involves unloading pallet and wood deliveries, moving freshly cut and recycled wood to worktable areas, and stacking finished products in trailers or storage areas at a safe height. The position requires maintaining a safe working environment while handling and transporting materials. The job is based at 2805 Mican Dr, Dallas, TX 75212, and pays $21.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. The work is labor-intensive and may involve extreme conditions, including heat, cold, outdoor elements, and airborne particulates. Employees repetitively lift up to 50–75 pounds and may bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift throughout shifts of varying lengths. Noise levels depend on the work location. Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations. The role requires close, distance, and color vision. Requirements
- 1–3 years of forklift experience.
- Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Unload deliveries of pallets and/or wood to the proper location inside the plant.
- Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area.
- Stack finished products into trailers or storage areas up to a safe height.
- Maintain a safe working environment while lifting, stacking, and transporting materials, considering other plant personnel.
