About The Position

As a Forklift Operator at 48forty Solutions, you will load and unload trailers containing wooden pallets and move pallets and wood throughout the plant to support efficient manufacturing production. You will unload pallet and wood deliveries, move freshly cut and recycled wood to worktable areas, and stack finished products in trailers or storage areas to a safe height. The role requires maintaining a safe working environment while handling and transporting materials alongside other plant personnel.

This position is located at 7507 Texas 331 Spur, Lubbock, TX 79404, and works first shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The starting pay is $17.00 per hour. The work may involve extreme conditions, including heat, cold, outdoor elements, and airborne particulates; repetitive lifting; and extended periods of sitting in a forklift. Personal protective equipment is required.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of forklift experience.
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50–75 pounds and bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths.
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.
