About The Position

As a Forklift Operator at 48forty Solutions, you will load and unload trailers carrying wooden pallets and move pallets within the plant to support efficient manufacturing production. The role involves handling pallets and wood, transporting materials, and maintaining a safe working environment. The position is based at 800 Held Dr, Northampton, PA 18067. The posted pay range is $20.00–$21.00 per hour, with first-shift pay of $20.00 per hour and second-shift pay of $21.00 per hour. First shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; second shift is Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m. The work may involve exposure to outdoor elements, heat, cold, and airborne particulates. Employees may repeatedly lift up to 50–75 pounds and bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift throughout shifts of varying lengths. Noise levels depend on the work location. Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations. The role requires close, distance, and color vision. Requirements

1–3 years of forklift experience.
Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload pallet and/or wood deliveries and place them in the proper location inside the plant.
Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area.
Stack finished products into trailers or storage areas up to a safe height.
Lift, stack, and transport materials while maintaining a safe working environment for plant personnel.
