About The Position

48forty Solutions is hiring a Forklift Operator to support pallet manufacturing at its St. Louis, Missouri plant. The operator loads and unloads trailers containing wooden pallets and moves pallets and wood throughout the plant to keep production running safely and efficiently. The role includes handling freshly cut and recycled wood, stacking finished products, and transporting materials while maintaining a safe working environment. The position pays $17.50 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The work may involve extreme weather and temperature conditions, airborne particulates, repetitive lifting, and extended periods sitting in a forklift. Personal protective equipment is required.

Requirements

1–3 years of forklift experience.
Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Ability to repetitively lift up to 50–75 pounds and bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths.
Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload deliveries of pallets and/or wood and place them in the proper location inside the plant.
Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area.
Stack finished products in trailers or storage areas up to a safe height.
Lift, stack, and transport materials while maintaining a safe working environment for plant personnel.
