About The Position

48forty Solutions is hiring a Forklift Operator to load and unload trailers containing wooden pallets and move pallets and wood throughout its plants to support manufacturing production. The role involves unloading deliveries, moving freshly cut and recycled wood to worktable areas, and stacking finished products in trailers or storage areas at a safe height. The operator is expected to maintain a safe and efficient working environment while coordinating with other plant personnel. The position is located at 4444 W Ohio St, Chicago, IL 60624, and pays $18.00 per hour. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The work is labor-intensive and may involve extreme environmental conditions, repetitive lifting, and sitting in a forklift for shifts of varying lengths. Required personal protective equipment includes eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations.

Requirements

1–3 years of forklift experience.
Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload deliveries of pallets and/or wood and place them in the proper location inside the plant.
Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area.
Stack finished products into trailers or storage areas up to a safe height.
Maintain a safe working environment while lifting, stacking, and transporting materials with other plant personnel in mind.
