About The Position

XPO is hiring a part-time Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight on a loading dock. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including a pallet jack and forklift, as well as tools and supplies to secure freight inside trailers and mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments. The dock is not climate-controlled, and the position requires working safely and efficiently in accordance with company safety policies.

The starting pay is $22.85 per hour. FAC-only night shifts receive an additional $1.80 per hour shift premium. Competitive and comprehensive benefits options are available to employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week. This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights; frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally more than 70 lbs.
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
• Reach, including above the head; bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.
• Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
