About The Position

XPO is hiring a part-time Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight in a dock environment. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including a pallet jack and forklift, as well as mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments. Operators secure freight inside trailers and follow company safety policies. The dock is not climate-controlled, and employees may work there for extended periods. The listed schedule is a night shift, 5/30 hours. The role is classified as exempt under the Motor Carrier Act.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to perform basic math calculations with and without a calculator.
Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
Reach, including above the head; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
