About The Position

XPO is hiring a part-time Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight and support safe, efficient operations on a loading dock. The position uses motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments. Work takes place for extended periods on a dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery. Pay starts at $26.05 per hour. Competitive and comprehensive benefits options are available to employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week. This is a Motor Carrier Act Exempt position.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, able to perform basic math calculations with or without a calculator, and available for a variety of shifts based on freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Dock or warehouse experience in transportation, forklift experience in a freight or LTL environment, and experience loading and unloading trailers are preferred.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 70 lbs.
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.
• Strong attention to detail and desire to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Work safely and efficiently while adhering to company safety policies.
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
