About The Position

The Forklift Operator Picker keeps production supplied by retrieving materials and supplies, operating a forklift, and picking orders to be shipped. The role plans material needs from the production schedule, delivers supplies to production areas, monitors inventory, documents the movement of materials and finished goods, and maintains a safe and organized work environment. It also includes routine forklift upkeep and completing related warehousing tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

Plan supply and material requirements by reviewing the production schedule and scheduling deliveries to production areas.
Retrieve supplies and materials by reviewing specifications, locating and verifying items, securing pallets on the forklift, and moving them to production locations.
Maintain production-area inventory by anticipating and tracking usage.
Monitor inventory and report discrepancies.
Clear production areas by securing and moving finished pallets and moving empty pallets.
Document actions by logging movements of supplies, materials, and finished goods.
Maintain a safe work environment by watching for foot traffic, following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
Keep the forklift operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Complete related tasks as needed to support warehousing and organization.
