About The Position

Eaton is seeking a Picker (Forklift Operator) for its ES AMER HQ MFGSC division at its Duncan, South Carolina facility. The role facilitates the movement of material throughout the distribution center by receiving, restocking, picking, packing, and shipping materials to support customer order processing. Core hours are Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; overtime may extend these hours and may be mandatory. The hourly rate is $23.00. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the facility, except active-duty military service member candidates, who are exempt from this geographic limitation. No relocation benefit is offered. Eaton does not provide immigration sponsorship or support for this position.

The Picker operates warehouse equipment to retrieve, move, replenish, inspect, and ship materials. The position involves using scanning equipment and LXE computers, verifying product styles and quantities, preparing cartons and shipping labels, and loading materials onto designated carriers. Employees are expected to follow instructions and company procedures, maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices, address order discrepancies, and perform other duties as assigned. The work requires handling materials, standing for extended periods, repetitive physical movements, and comfort working at heights.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

• Six months of experience operating a forklift, cherry picker, reach truck, and/or order picker.

Responsibilities

• Operate reach trucks and order pickers to retrieve the correct styles and quantities of material from warehouse locations, including elevated locations, using the appropriate picking process.
• Place materials in containers, visually inspect products, verify materials with scanning equipment when required, and confirm counts; apply the same procedures when restocking or replenishing.
• Unload and stage pallets in designated Shipping areas; use packing slips to generate print move tickets, break down and sort materials, verify counts, and restock warehouse locations using LXE computers to scan and verify materials, styles, locations, and counts.
• Verify styles and quantities picked, visually inspect products, scan items, pack them in shipping cartons, add packing material to reduce damage risk, and place packing lists, content labels, and shipping labels as appropriate.
• Verify picked styles and quantities, check and divert materials to shrink wrap or shipping lanes, generate shipping labels, and load materials onto designated carriers.
• Resolve discrepancies by researching possible solutions to ensure orders are accurate.
• Maintain quality workmanship, follow safety procedures, report unsafe acts, and perform work of equal or lower classification when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
