Foreman | Line Clearance
About The Position
Davey Utility Line Clearance is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Crew Foreman/Foreperson to lead a tree crew servicing Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and nearby locations. This on-site role performs tree pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers. The foreman leads a crew of 2–5 people, ensures safe and skillful work, plans and inspects job sites, maintains and operates equipment, and mentors and trains new employees. The position is permanent, full-time, and hourly, with compensation based on qualifications and experience. The starting rate is $22.00 per hour. Travel expectations are up to 25%.
Requirements
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Love of the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Commercial Driver’s License—Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness to obtain one.
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional certification.
- CDL holder and/or climbing experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 2–5 person tree crew performing tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
- Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
- Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
- Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
- Perform job-site inspections and properly plan and execute assigned work and tasks.
- Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Mentor and train new employees.
