About The Position

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to lead a tree crew serving the Northwestern Ohio region, including Findlay, Bowling Green, Lima, and surrounding areas. This is an onsite, full-time hourly position performing utility tree-care work for major electric utility providers. The foreman leads a crew of 2–5 employees and carries out tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully. A CDL and/or climbing experience is preferred. Travel expectations are up to 25%.

Requirements

• Line-clearance experience or other related tree-work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive-driving courses upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness to obtain one.
• Climbing experience.
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional credentials.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–5 person tree crew in performing tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree-identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Conduct job-site inspections and properly plan and execute assigned work and tasks.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.
