About The Position
Davey Utility Line Clearance is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson to service the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric, including areas such as Wellington and Ashland. The role leads a crew of 2–5 people performing tree pruning and removal for major electric utility providers. The position is on site, full time, hourly, and permanent, with travel expectations of up to 25%.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Love of the outdoors.
Nice To Haves
- Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or B, with Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness to obtain one.
- Climbing experience.
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 2–5 person tree crew in safely and skillfully performing tree pruning and removal services.
- Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
- Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
- Apply tree-identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
- Perform job-site inspections and properly plan and execute assigned work and tasks.
- Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Mentor and train new employees.
