About The Position

Louis W. Bray Construction is a family-owned and operated Heavy Civil General Contractor, founded on mutual respect and fostering a family atmosphere where every employee is an integral part of the organization. The Foreman supervises on-site construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role involves coordinating crew members, resolving on-site issues, monitoring progress, and communicating with Supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors. The Foreman plays a critical role in maintaining workflow, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sewer and Water supervisor in heavy civil construction
  • Ability to work unsupervised and lead work crews.
  • Coordination with subcontractors, suppliers and owners.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees; and supervising sub-contractors.
  • Delegating tasks to team members in line with skill, knowledge and capability and note where employees need improvements and hold them accountable.
  • Follow and enforce company policy, procedures, safety standards and ensure all site personnel are always adhering to them.
  • Preforms daily toolbox talks, weekly site inspections and incident reporting.
  • Communicate relevant information to crew members, allowing them to effectively complete their tasks/roles.
  • Meets construction work standards by following production, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.
  • Assist Superintendent in creating short-term schedules and monitor such schedules.
  • Plans construction projects by studying technical specifications and drawing, ordering and scheduling materials and equipment.
  • Inspecting work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications. Notify supervisors of any defects, mistakes, errors at time of incident
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting shared ownership and responsibility for each project; and exploring opportunities to add value to each project.
  • Represent company in meetings with clients, contractors, inspectors, etc. as required.
  • Participation in daily and weekly update meetings.
  • Evaluate worker's abilities, Coach/mentor crew members to develop their position.
  • Maintain an exemplary safety record; knowledge of safety procedures; and knowledgeable of the hazards specific to each job. Promote a safe working environment.
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with team members, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Generating daily work sheets with cost codes and recording quantities, Maintain Accurate As build drawings.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; becoming aware of state-of-the-art practices.
