About The Position

The Footwear Associate, referred to in the posting as a Sales Outfitter, performs sales and customer-service activities to provide customers with a pleasant and productive shopping experience. The role includes greeting and assisting customers, demonstrating merchandise, sharing product knowledge, maintaining product displays and pricing, replenishing stock, and keeping the work area clean and organized. Associates help customers make buying decisions by identifying their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The position works under general supervision and uses established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work practices.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more using a team lift as needed.
Ability to occasionally use ladders, stairs, ramps, machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment, and to work in confined spaces or noisy environments.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner.
Handle merchandise with care and provide customers with information, assistance, and direction.
Demonstrate products to customers and maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
Remain informed about advertised sales and maintain accurate pricing and signage.
Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Identify and evaluate customers’ needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Use established procedures and occasional independent judgment to complete work assignments; make recommendations regarding work procedures, policies, and practices.
