About The Position

The Footwear Associate, referred to in the position summary as a Sales Outfitter, performs selling and customer service activities. The role greets and acknowledges customers promptly and courteously, handles merchandise with care, and provides customers with information, assistance, and direction. It supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining merchandise and displays, and helping customers make informed purchasing decisions. The associate works under general supervision and follows established procedures while using occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift and meet the listed physical requirements, including moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with team lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and contribute to a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products and help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
