Foodservice Worker
About The Position
The Food Service Worker supports daily cafeteria operations at a school site by preparing and serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting coworkers to ensure smooth, efficient service. The role contributes to a positive dining experience for students and staff in a safe, clean, and friendly environment. It is suitable for dependable team players, including those who are new to food service, who take pride in their work and enjoy supporting their community. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks. The worker may also participate in company events or meetings.
Requirements
- Previous food service or cleaning experience is preferred.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and following a routine.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Must pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, walk, and use hands regularly.
- Enjoys working around children and being part of a school community.
- Respectful, inclusive, and professional conduct with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen and service area.
- Stock serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
- Follow proper procedures for food storage, rotation, and sanitation.
- Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors courteously.
- Assist with putting away deliveries and organizing inventory.
- Sweep and mop floors and take out trash as needed.
- Follow local, state, federal, and company health regulations.
- Assist team members or cover shifts as needed.
- Submit reports and meet assigned deadlines.
- Carry out additional duties that support the kitchen team and school meal program.
