About The Position

The Food Service Worker supports daily cafeteria operations at a school site, preparing and serving meals and helping maintain a safe, clean, and friendly environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role includes maintaining cleanliness, organizing inventory, and assisting coworkers to ensure smooth, efficient service. It is suited to dependable team players who take pride in their work and enjoy contributing to a positive dining experience and supporting the school community.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeks. It may also require participation in company events or meetings. The work takes place in a school kitchen and cafeteria, with moderate kitchen noise and frequent movement in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

• Previous food service or cleaning experience is preferred.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
• Comfortable with repetitive tasks and following a routine.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprint screening.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Enjoys working around children and being part of a school community.
• Respectful, inclusive, and professional with coworkers and customers.
• Able to stand for an entire shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to bend, reach, walk, and use hands regularly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and service area.
• Stock serving lines, salad bars, and milk coolers.
• Follow procedures for food storage, rotation, and sanitation.
• Serve meals to students, staff, and visitors courteously.
• Put away deliveries and organize inventory.
• Sweep, mop, and take out trash as needed.
• Follow local, state, federal, and company health regulations.
• Assist team members or cover shifts as needed.
• Submit reports and meet assigned deadlines.
• Perform additional duties to support the kitchen team and school meal program.
