About The Position

Foodservice Worker serving a K-12 school dining program with Metz Culinary Management. The position reports to a Riverside School District school and follows the school calendar, with summers off. Team members may work in a school café and dining setting, assisting with meal plating and presentation, café setup and breakdown, food preparation, dishroom duties, inventory, and sanitation. Depending on assignment, work may also involve preparing meals from Executive Chef menus or supporting catering events. The posting describes full- and part-time opportunities, flexible schedules, and cafeteria substitute work on an as-needed basis. State and child abuse clearances are required.

Requirements

Experience is desired, but candidates with a passion for food and an understanding of the basics may be trained.
Ability to apply elementary mathematical statistics to inventory and portioning.

Responsibilities

Plate meals and help set up and tear down café or retail dining areas.
Assist with kitchen preparation, dishroom work, dry stock and perishable food inventories, and sanitation.
Prepare and present meals according to Executive Chef menus, and inventory and portion ingredients, where assigned to line or prep cook duties.
For catering assignments, create, transport, set up, serve, and break down banquet-style food displays.
Contribute where needed and work collaboratively in a hospitality-focused team.
For substitute assignments, fill in as needed in a K-12 kitchen and dining café.
