About The Position
Bartlett Regional Hospital is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join their Dietary team. This role involves a variety of food service duties to support patient, resident, visitor, and employee meal services. The position emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment, adhering to food safety guidelines and infection control standards, and providing excellent customer service. The Food Service Assistant 2 role includes additional responsibilities such as training new staff, supporting workflow coordination, and acting as an experienced resource within the department, with a focus on therapeutic diets and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Must obtain a State of Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe within 30 days of hire.
- Produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to start of employment.
- Food Service Assistant 1: None
- Food Service Assistant 2: One (1) year of experience in an institutional food services setting or six (6) months FSA1 at BRH

- Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience in food service (Food Service Assistant 1)

- Providing support across all areas of food service operations (Food Service Assistant 2)
- Ensuring accurate meal service, adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency (Food Service Assistant 2)
- Contributing to a positive dining experience (Food Service Assistant 2)
- Exercising sound judgment, modeling professional work practices, promoting teamwork, and supporting departmental goals (Food Service Assistant 2)
Benefits
