About The Position

Under general supervision, the Food Services Aide performs a variety of duties for patient food service and the cafeteria. Duties include assembling and picking up patient trays, preparing foods, assisting with special functions, and cleaning and sanitizing assigned equipment and work areas. The aide assists with patient tray assembly, prepares late trays, stocks traylines and pantries, and prepares cold food for the cafeteria and patients as assigned. The role also delivers patient carts to floors, distributes and collects patient trays, operates the dish machine, and cleans pots and pans. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of proper sanitary food handling.
• Ability to speak and write effectively and understand basic math concepts.
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, push heavy objects, and stand on ladders.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and pick up patient trays.
• Assist with special functions.
• Prepare foods, including cold food for the cafeteria and patients as assigned.
• Assist with patient tray assembly and prepare late trays.
• Stock traylines and pantries.
• Deliver patient carts to floors.
• Distribute and collect patient trays.
• Operate the dish machine, including washing, unloading, and putting away dishes.
• Clean pots and pans.
• Clean and sanitize assigned equipment and work areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
