About The Position

The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Reed City Area Public Schools. This is an on-call position; days and hours may vary according to need. The role includes preparing ingredients, handling and storing food safely, cleaning work areas and equipment, distributing supplies, serving customers, and following food quality, portion-control, sanitation, safety, inventory, and cash-control standards. Prior food service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
• Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, the stove, and the refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas using wrapping, dating, food-safety, and rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to maintain food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
• Follow company service standards and inventory and cash-control procedures.
• Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
