FOOD SERVICE WORKER (PART TIME)
About The Position
The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at Port Sanilac Schools. The position is part time, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Prior food service experience is a plus, and training is available. The fixed pay rate is $14.50 per hour. The role involves preparing ingredients, following approved recipes and production standards, storing food safely, maintaining clean work areas, serving customers, addressing customer concerns, and complying with service, inventory, cash-control, sanitation, and safety requirements. Because the position serves an educational facility, work may be unavailable during school breaks; any such periods without work are unpaid and considered a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at another location during breaks.

Responsibilities
- Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, the stove, and the refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food-safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, following outlined service steps.
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash-control procedures.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
