FOOD SERVICE WORKER (PART TIME)
About The Position
TouchPoint Support Services is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at Sacred Heart Village in Avilla, Indiana. The role prepares, presents, and serves food for patients, families, visitors, and customers. The worker performs food preparation, follows recipes and production standards, maintains food safety and sanitation, cleans work areas and equipment, and provides friendly, efficient customer service. Previous food service experience is required. A uniform is provided. The schedule is 3:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with days that may vary and rotating weekends. The pay range is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. TouchPoint is part of Compass Healthcare and describes its mission as serving patients, families, and visitors with hospitality while supporting the health of poor and vulnerable people.
Requirements
- Previous food service experience is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients.
- Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
- Store food in designated areas using wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to maintain quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner according to outlined service steps.
- Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
- Follow company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
