About The Position

The Food Service Worker prepares, presents, and serves food as needed at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The role includes preparing fruits and vegetables, measuring ingredients, transporting food safely, storing food according to food-safety procedures, cleaning work areas and equipment, distributing supplies, following approved recipes and production standards, serving customers, addressing concerns, and supporting sanitation, safety, inventory, and cash-control standards. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Prior salad bar preparation experience is preferred, but training is available. The fixed pay rate is $18.23 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the openings are filled. Because the work takes place in an educational facility, periods of reduced or ceased food-service needs during school breaks may result in unpaid time away from work; depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at another location during breaks.
