About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a full-time Food Service Worker II (Lead) for Food Services. This lead role works rotating shifts, 40 hours per week, including rotating weekends and holidays. The employee leads Food Service Workers in daily food and tray-line setup, service, and cleanup and sanitation. The role also supports staff training, conducts inventory, assigns tasks, monitors portion control, and ensures service areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized and that recipes, menus, quality standards, and safe food-handling guidelines are followed.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent.
Two years of food service experience.
Food Service Handler's Card, as required by the local Health Department.

Responsibilities

Lead Food Service Workers in daily food and tray-line setup, service, cleanup, and sanitation.
Help train new staff.
Conduct inventory.
Assign tasks.
Monitor portion control.
Ensure service areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized.
Ensure procedures for recipes, menus, quality, and safe food handling are followed.
