About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Food Service Worker II (Lead) for its Food Service Department. This full-time role works 40 hours per week on 8-hour rotating shifts. The worker acts as a lead for Food Service Workers and supports daily food and tray-line setup, service, and cleanup and sanitation. The role also helps train new staff, conducts inventory, assigns tasks, monitors portion control, and ensures service areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized. The lead ensures procedures for recipes, menus, quality, and safe food handling guidelines are followed.

Requirements

• Certified Food Service Handler's Card, as required by the local Health Department.
• Food Handler certification required upon hire for all locations for SLC positions.
• Experience in lieu of a degree or diploma will be accepted.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience.
• Food service experience.
