About The Position

JJYS Food Service Worker II (Full-Time) - Cache Valley Youth Center. A food service worker prepares and serves food, cleans dining and kitchen areas, and operates equipment while following safety and sanitation guidelines. This role involves cooking, baking, serving meals, maintaining food temperatures, preparing salads and garnishes, assisting with basic food preparation and ordering, distributing food using proper techniques, practicing food safety and public health protection, maintaining inventory, tracking receipts, and cleaning/sterilizing areas and equipment. It also includes stocking and ensuring deliveries are correct, and adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations. The position requires the use of cleaning agents, products, and equipment.

Requirements

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for converting recipes.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Motivated Individual.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is often preferred.
• Previous experience in food service role is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff.
• Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures.
• Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering.
• Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques.
• Practices of food safety and public health protection.
• Maintains inventory.
• Tracks receipts.
• Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and/or equipment.
• Stocking: Replenishing food items, supplies, condiments, and dishware.
• Ensuring deliveries are correct.
• Compliance: Adhering to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Uses cleaning agents, products and equipment.
