Food Service Worker I Part-time
About The Position
The Food Service Worker I safely performs contract duties assigned by management and provides quality customer service. Knowledge of and willingness to learn all aspects of the job are required. The role involves food service, dishwashing, and cleaning tasks. Employees may travel to various locations and buildings throughout the year and in different weather conditions, although most work takes place indoors. Work may involve cleaning chemicals, and employees must follow the Emergency Operations Work Assignment according to customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change and may include early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Requirements
- Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on the specified contract.
- Understand oral and/or written instructions.
- Interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, and staff members.
- Pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
- Follow the Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.
- Drug testing is required.
- Regularly bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above the head, sit to drive, and lift up to 40 pounds; occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Set up hot and cold food serving stations.
- Serve customers appropriately sized portions at sufficient rates.
- Remove or refill hot and cold food items.
- Clean salad and beverage bar areas and clean spills immediately.
- Cut, pan, or plate pastries and desserts.
- Pre-wash, scrub, sort, separate, and put away dishes and utensils.
- Clean and descale dishwashers.
- Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop flooring.
- Scrub tile and concrete floors.
- Empty trash cans and deposit trash in appropriate receptacles.
- Safely perform contract duties assigned by management and provide quality customer service.
