About The Position

Canteen is hiring a Food Service Worker/Cashier to perform cashiering duties and general food service work while maintaining sanitation standards in food preparation, service, and dining areas. The position is on call, with a stated schedule of Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; further schedule details are provided during the interview. The role is based at 8099 College Parkway, Fort Myers, Florida. Cross-training to work at Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and the cafe will be provided. The advertised pay range is $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.

Previous barista and food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare food by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, and weigh and measure designated ingredients.
Carry food pans, kettles, and trays between work stations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils, and ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
Follow approved recipes and production standards to maintain food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner, respond to complaints in a service-oriented way, and relay relevant information to the supervisor.
Perform sales transactions, accurately enter purchases into the cash register, make change, accept approved payment methods, and issue receipts.
Follow standard procedures for cash refunds and manage assigned change funds and cash receipts in accordance with cash drawer overage and shortage standards.
Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
