About The Position

The Food Service Worker and Custodian assists the Director with preparing, delivering, and maintaining food and beverage service for Adult Day Care participants. The role also keeps the Adult Day Care area clean and orderly. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with older persons, preferably with physically and/or emotionally impaired individuals in a therapeutic setting.
• Follow policies, procedures, and instructions, and respond to management direction.
• Be consistently present and punctual.
• Treat others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position.
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, and complete work promptly.
• Observe safety and security procedures.
• Use equipment and materials properly.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with physically and/or emotionally impaired older persons in a therapeutic setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare kitchen and dining areas for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and prepare coffee and tea.
• Clean the kitchen and dining area after food service.
• Return unused food to the main building after lunch.
• Manage inventory orders for kitchen and janitorial supplies.
• Clean the refrigerator and kitchen shelves.
• Use the washing machine to wash linens.
• Mop kitchen floors and staff restrooms.
• Empty all trash at the end of the day.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
