About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Food Service Supervisor I for Central Regional Hospital. This role is responsible for supervising employees in the preparation of patient meals, ensuring optimal quality, aesthetic appeal, and nutritional value while adhering to high standards of safety and sanitation. The supervisor must ensure employees follow established regulations, policies, and procedures critical to patient food safety.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of experience in the preparation and serving of food in large quantities in a commercial or institutional kitchen.
Education and/or experience directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices or the trade equivalent to two years of experience in a commercial and/or institutional kitchen.
Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in a repetitive motion.
Ability to work as a team member, both at task and organizational level.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of acceptable food handling, food service, safety, and sanitation standards and practices.
Must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
