About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents, of Wards 7 and 8, have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Food Service Manager (Full-Time). Our ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Operations Manager to establish goals and oversee the implementation of patient food service's needs, based upon medical direction and patient population, hire, direct, coach, train, and develop team members, comply with dietary restrictions on special or modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within the guidelines of the order limitations, ensure that staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goals, comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies, participate in/ leads patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree with one year work experience in food services or related field, or bachelor’s degree in food service technology/management or related field, or one year experience in food service management in an acute care setting, or at least five (5) years’ experience in a related food service industry to include higher education or elementary.
  • Effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical record, and diet office systems.
  • Effectively communicate (both verbal and written) with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Experience with and knowledge of accounting and timekeeping programs and payroll applications.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to work with confidential employee, client, and CHRMC information.
