About The Position

The Food Service Clerk serves prepared goods to customers at the Food Service counter. The role involves responding to customer requests, preparing and packaging food, maintaining counter supplies and displays, and providing exceptional customer service. Clerks are expected to be positive, respectful, flexible, and able to adjust to changes in the workplace.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls regularly.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms occasionally.
• Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Close and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the Food Service counter by listening to requests and obtaining the desired products.
• Answer the telephone and take orders when necessary.
• Itemize prices for counter goods.
• Use a slicer properly to cut weighable products.
• Wrap and/or box and label products.
• Make sandwiches and prepare lunch and dinner specials.
• Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters and tables to promote sales.
• Stock and replenish products, napkins, condiments, waxed paper, and other items needed at the Food Service counter.
• Provide customer service that exceeds customer expectations, following established policies and guides.
• Maintain a positive can-do attitude, treat others with respect, and adjust to changes in the workplace.
