About The Position

UPMC Horizon – Shenango Valley is hiring a part-time Food Service Attendant for its Nutritional Services Team. The role is suited to team players who enjoy interacting with patients and the public. No experience is required, and uniform shirts are provided. Team members may be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. Work takes place in a cafeteria environment and includes fulfilling patients’ meal requests and interacting with patients as part of an essential department team. Candidates must be available to work between 5:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., including weekends and holidays. A work permit is required for applicants under 18. Act 34 clearance is required.

Responsibilities

Secure the food, service equipment, and utensils needed for the assigned area before meal service.
Follow department procedures for operating food service equipment.
Depending on facility or department requirements, inventory and stock bulk supplies according to established procedures and timeframes.
Serve patient meal trays using the designated department script, including proper patient identification.
Bus tables and sanitize tables and chairs.
Deliver meals to residents’ rooms when requested.
Set tables for the next meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient or guest-specific requirements.
Maintain food safety and quality according to applicable health department requirements.
Follow hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
Sanitize the assigned work area according to department procedures and health department guidelines.
