About The Position

UPMC Hamot is hiring a Food Service Attendant. This casual, per diem position has flexible shift hours, with occasional weekend and holiday coverage required. The attendant is responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation, and service of nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals. The role practices appropriate food-handling techniques and food-safety procedures and consistently demonstrates excellent customer service. A work permit is required for employees under 18 years old. Act 34 is listed under licensure, certifications, and clearances.

Responsibilities

Secure the food and service equipment and utensils needed for the assigned area before meal service.
Follow department procedures for operating food service equipment.
Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient or guest-specific requirements.
Maintain food safety and quality in accordance with applicable health department requirements.
Consistently follow hand hygiene and infection control procedures when interacting with customers.
Sanitize the assigned work area according to departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
Depending on facility or department requirements, inventory and stock bulk supplies according to established procedures and timeframes.
For patient service, serve meal trays using the designated department script and properly identify patients.
Bus tables and sanitize tables and chairs.
Deliver meals to residents' rooms when requested.
Set tables for the following meal according to the Food Service Guidelines Manual.
