About The Position

The Food Service Associate operates the restaurant point-of-sale system as a cashier, stocks restaurant supplies, sets up the restaurant, cleans and stocks food inventories, and maintains the cleanliness of public areas. The associate responds to customer needs and provides service. Duties also include preparing and serving food, cleaning kitchen areas and utensils, operating food-service equipment, and setting up and serving patient trays. This position is per diem on the day shift at Adventist Health Hanford in Kings County, California. Adventist Health requires associates to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply. The organization participates in E-Verify.

Nice To Haves

High school education/GED or equivalent.
Associate’s/technical degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
SERV Safe certification or equivalent (preferred in California and Hawaii).

Responsibilities

Receive, prepare, and deliver customer orders efficiently.
Perform simple and routine tasks related to preparing and serving food.
Clean kitchen areas and cooking utensils.
Operate the cash register and stock restaurant supplies as needed.
Keep the work area clean and organized and promptly report equipment maintenance or repair needs.
Maintain cleaning and temperature logs.
Operate dishwashing, peeling, and other mechanical equipment.
Set up and serve patient trays.
Carry dishes and food between the kitchen and serving lines.
Transport and store supplies.
Wash and cut vegetables and fruits.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
