About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Food Service Assistant in Nutrition Services for a part-time, 0.80 FTE evening position. The role supports hospital food and catering operations by preparing, serving, cleaning up, and delivering food products while following HACCP guidelines for safe food handling.

The position may involve preparing, mixing, assembling, portioning, serving, and storing food; operating a dish machine; washing pots; performing heavy cleaning; transporting equipment, food, supplies, and trash; and, as needed, working as a cafeteria cashier. The employee follows assigned station setup and cleanup guidelines and performs other duties as assigned. The position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• At least one year of experience is preferred; previous work experience is preferred.
• An Oregon Food Handler Card is required.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and sanitation are required.
• Ability to work well with others is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively to perform the role’s functions safely and effectively is required.

• Retail food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve, and store food according to applicable guidelines.
• Operate the dish machine, wash pots, and perform heavy cleaning in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Transport equipment, food, supplies, and trash as directed.
• May work as a cafeteria cashier and operate the cash register.
• Follow assigned station setup and cleanup guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
