About The Position

Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable, team-oriented PRN Nutrition Services Technician for its Main Campus in Jackson, Mississippi. The position supports the Nutrition Services team by preparing and serving meals, delivering food to patients, maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen areas, and assisting with cafeteria operations. The work contributes to a welcoming dining experience and supports the comfort and well-being of patients, employees, and visitors. This is an active role in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is highly desired.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Dependable, organized, and attentive to cleanliness and food safety.
• Willingness to assist with a variety of kitchen, dining, and food service duties.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, push and pull carts and food service equipment, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in warm or hot kitchen environments and perform cleaning, stocking, food preparation, and other physical duties.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed to meet departmental requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous restaurant or food service experience.
• Two to three years of restaurant experience preferred.
• Computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and department procedures.
• Deliver patient meals and collect used meal trays.
• Assist with food preparation, delivery, and service in patient dining areas and the cafeteria.
• Set up, maintain, break down, and clean kitchen, café, dining, and dish room areas.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor food temperatures to help ensure food is kept within required safety ranges.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and food service equipment.
• Receive deliveries, unload delivery trucks, and stock and rotate food and supplies.
• Assist with cashier duties as needed.
• Set up and serve catered events as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily Nutrition Services operations.
