About The Position

The Food Server works in the sportsbook bar and promotes excellent guest service for internal and external guests. The role involves answering questions about menu and beverage items, maintaining knowledge of offerings and specials, observing guests to anticipate their needs, and completing assigned steps of service. The server must maintain dependable attendance and perform other special projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must acquire and maintain a valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Blood-Borne Pathogens (BBP) certification, and other required compliance training.
• Ability to perform the GILA WAY: Greet guests, Interact positively with guests, Listen actively to guests, and Appreciate guests.
• Excellent guest service skills and strong telephone etiquette.
• Self-starter able to follow up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
• Strong written and oral interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must possess, or be able to acquire within one year, in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to the role.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume bar, restaurant, or nightclub.
• In-depth wine and alcohol knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Promote and provide excellent guest service to internal and external guests.

• Maintain knowledge of the dining or beverage menu and special items being offered.
• Observe guests, anticipate their needs, and complete assigned steps of service.
• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage offerings to answer questions accurately and appropriately.
• Maintain a dependable attendance record with extremely infrequent absences or lateness.
• Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.
