About The Position

As a Food Server at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, you will help deliver exceptional dining experiences in the resort’s dining venues. The role includes providing attentive, personalized service, demonstrating menu and beverage knowledge, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. You will coordinate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers to provide a seamless dining experience, while maintaining dining-area cleanliness and following service standards. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Duties may be added or modified as necessary.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of wine and beverage service.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a friendly, engaging demeanor.
Strong attention to detail, time-management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and grooming in keeping with the resort’s image and restaurant dress code.
Basic math skills for order taking and billing.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and guest interactions.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays with food and beverages.
Familiarity with food-safety regulations and best practices.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, holidays, and weekends.
Ability to read and communicate verbally in English; written English communication may also be required.
Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance while performing duties.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a server in an upscale restaurant or luxury hospitality setting.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and create a positive first impression.
Take orders accurately and efficiently, respond to guest requests and inquiries, and provide personalized service.
Explain menu ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials, and recommend food and beverages.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery, communicate special requests and dietary restrictions, and maintain appropriate pacing.
Present alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, follow responsible alcohol service guidelines, and verify guests’ legal drinking age when serving alcohol.
Maintain clean and organized tables and dining areas, clear dishes and utensils, and set tables according to established standards.
Check guest satisfaction, promptly address concerns, and escalate issues when necessary.
Present bills, handle payment transactions securely, and provide professional service during payment.
Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers; assist colleagues during peak periods.
Qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
