About The Position

The Food Safety Quality Senior Technician performs complex analytical and laboratory testing in support of food safety, quality, and operations teams. The role involves analyzing product tests, checking and monitoring instrumentation performance, conducting tests, documenting results in databases, and communicating test results. The position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is listed as onsite.

Requirements

• High school diploma, secondary education level, or equivalent.
• Proven working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation.
• At least four years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least three years of experience in a laboratory or food manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO 22000 accreditations or standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analysis on final and in-process products and ensure finished products meet required specifications before shipments are released.
• Enter data into databases and communicate results verbally or in writing.
• Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps.
• Assist with evaluating and interpreting highly complex data, and identify problems with atypical test results in consultation with upper-level personnel.
• Support trials and experiments under the direction of more senior team members.
• Provide food safety and quality leadership, coaching, and mentoring to facility employees.
• Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support issues under minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
