About The Position

The Food Safety Quality Senior Technician completes complex analytical and laboratory testing in support of food safety, quality, and operational teams. The role performs product analyses, checks and monitors instrumentation performance, conducts tests, documents results in databases, and communicates test results. It also supports product specification compliance, data interpretation, experiments, and food safety and quality leadership at the facility. The position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is an onsite second-shift role. Relocation assistance is not provided, and the business will not sponsor work visas for this position.

Requirements

• High school diploma, secondary education level, or equivalent.
• Proven working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation.
• At least four years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least three years of experience within a laboratory or food manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO 22000 accreditations or standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analysis on final and in-process products and ensure finished products meet required specifications before shipments are released.
• Enter data into databases and communicate results verbally or in writing.
• Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps.
• Assist with evaluating and interpreting highly complex data and identify problems with atypical test results, consulting upper-level personnel.
• Support trials and experiments under the direction of more senior team members.
• Provide food safety and quality leadership, coaching, and mentoring to facility employees.
• Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support issues under minimal supervision, escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Check and monitor instrumentation performance, conduct tests, and document results.
