About The Position

The Food Runner works within the Food and Beverage service team to assist servers in providing guests with a prompt and efficient dining experience in a personable, courteous, and professional manner. Impeccable grooming and a neat, clean, professional appearance are essential. The role requires following service and appearance standards, contributing to teamwork, and observing occupational safety and health practices.

Requirements

• Good physical condition to lift moderate weights, move quickly, and remain on feet for a prolonged period.
• Pleasant personality and ability to respond to guest questions and service needs while contributing to teamwork.
• Attention to detail and ability to retain service orders and perform service standards.
• Well-groomed appearance according to company guidelines.
• Valid Food Handlers card, to be kept on file in the Food and Beverage Office.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, using an appropriate combination of skills and abilities.

• Previous dining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standards of proper service etiquette throughout guests’ dining experiences.
• Assist servers with general service and remove completed courses from tables.
• Provide water after guests are seated and replenish it throughout service.
• Set up and stock service stations in the kitchen and dining room, and restock them during service.
• Clear and reset tables promptly and quietly after guests depart, including breakfast table setup and precise placement of items.
• Break down bus trays at the dishwashing station and assist dishwashers when needed.
• Perform post-service duties in the kitchen and dining room in an expedient manner.
• Know table and position numbers and fulfill the Food Runner role as dictated by the schedule.
• Assist servers in ensuring all dining-room tables meet standards.
• Work with other team members to support optimum efficiency.
• Know emergency safety measures, including Castle Hot Springs emergency response protocols.
• Follow occupational safety and health practices, including wearing personal protective equipment when required.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with company guidelines and the Employee Handbook.
