About The Position

Food Runners may be utilized at Hard Rock Cafe during high business volume. In addition to delivering guests’ orders, they assist servers in responding to guest requests. The main responsibility is to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner. The role may also involve cross-training with Servers and Bussers. This job description reflects the position’s essential functions but does not encompass every task that may be assigned.

Requirements

• Remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
• Demonstrate organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers.
• Ability to move throughout the corporate office and cafes during visits, including standing, walking, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to make repetitive movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hands above the shoulders.
• Ability to occasionally, regularly, or frequently lift, push, pull, balance, or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud or noisy environments.
• Ability to travel by automobile or airplane for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to guests quickly and efficiently.
• Deliver condiments and drinks as needed, including alcoholic beverages.
• Refill beverages as needed and respond to guest inquiries courteously and politely.
• Handle guest issues promptly and professionally, and communicate problems and concerns to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized server alley and expo area.
• Stock ice and glassware on the server line.
• Pre-buss tables.
• Clean and reset dirty tables.
• Sweep the floor.
• Assist and communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house staff.
• Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow uniform guidelines.
• Practice general safety and sanitation standards.
• Recycle products where possible.
• Maintain Hard Rock Cafe’s five core values and mission statement.
