About The Position

The Food Production Specialist supports food production for the Deli-CMS, Meat-Seafood, Bakery, and Produce departments. The role involves preparing store products for guests, maintaining product knowledge, helping guests locate products and complete meal solutions, and ensuring products meet rotation, cleaning, and sanitation standards. Specialists follow company policies and protocols and maintain a professional appearance in accordance with uniform standards.

The position typically follows a 3 a.m.–11 a.m. schedule, with Sunday and Wednesday typically as days off. The Fresh Market offers an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked from 12 a.m.–5 a.m. Team members must be willing to work a flexible schedule—including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays—to meet store needs.

Requirements

• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to work a 3 a.m.–11 a.m. schedule, with days off typically Sunday and Wednesday.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself.
• Ability to work around extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including up to four hours without a break or as required by law.
• Ability to wear an approved hat, hair net and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Production Planning Software experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle production for key items supporting the Deli-CMS, Meat-Seafood, Bakery, and Produce departments.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and weekly ad items.
• Assist guests across departments with finding products and completing meal solutions.
• Inspect products for proper rotation and ensure cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Complete reports as necessary.
• Follow The Fresh Market's standards, policies, and protocols.
• Present professionally and adhere to uniform standards.
