About The Position

The Food & Nutrition Specialist assists with food service functions in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations for long-term care and assisted living facilities. Following policies and procedures as directed by the Food and Nutrition Services Manager, the role supports food preparation, service of well-balanced meals, and maintenance of a clean and sanitary dining hall.

Requirements

• Must have at least an eighth-grade education.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a Colorado CAPS background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook in preparing palatable and appetizing meals in accordance with established portion-control procedures.
• Set up and deliver meal trays, food carts, and other items to designated areas.
• Help check diet trays before distribution.
• Serve food in the dining room as instructed.
• Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, and utensils.
• Remove food trays from carts, dining rooms, and other areas.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Perform other duties as requested.
